The Secret History of Mongolia, one of the world's greatest historical and cultural monuments, written in 1240, the Year of the White Mouse, states that "Bodanchar became Borjigin." Genghis Khan is the 11th grandson of Bodanchar, a descendant of Burte Chon. History records that Bodanchar separated from his brothers and created the Borjigin clan.
In the late spring of 1691, the Manchu king Enkh-Amgalan annexed Mongolia, splitting the four provinces from seven counties into 82 counties, and the Borjigin county of Setsen Khan province was established.
Considering the reasons related to the history of Borjigin in Govisumber aimag:
- From 1691, Borjigin janjin beil khoshuu of Setsen khan aimag
- Borjigin tsetsen vangiin khoshuu since 1911
- Since 1923, Otsol Sansar mountain
- Govisumber soum of Tuv aimag since 1931
- Sumber soum of Dornogovi aimag since 1956 / Choir soum of Dornogovi aimag was established in 1962 at the railway station and was dissolved in 1964 /
Resolution No. 46 of the State Conference of June 21, 1991 merged Sumber soum of Dornogovi aimag, Shiveegobi khoroo, and Bayantal khoroo of Ulaanbaatar city to form the state-level Choir city. Govisumber aimag was established in August 1994 by the State Great Hural Resolution No. 32 of May 6, 1994 on the border of Choir city.
